7th Grade: August 2020
Dear Parents,
It is my privilege to be involved in helping your child grow in the love of God by providing opportunities of spiritual and academic growth.
Your child is a unique, precious and special gift from God. Therefore, I will work to create a classroom environment that will have an atmosphere of care, concern and respect - one where our actions/consequences will be based on Gospel values.
I want to instill in your child the Christian values and morals of The Church. I want to develop ways for the students to grow in their spiritual development and provide activities to further develop their Catholic identify. My goals will be to help promote a positive self-esteem in each student, to give them a firm grasp of the beauty and richness of our faith, to develop study skills to help achieve academic success, to provide an understanding / interest in social studies and to incorporate technology into the learning process and student project / creations.
I expect students to come to class prepared with their homework, textbook, notebook and supplies, to participate in class and to accept responsibility for their actions.
Each student is a beautiful reflection of Our Creator, so therefore, there are two things that I will not tolerate in my classroom: 1) students who make fun of other students and demean their human dignity and 2) students who lie or cheat thus demeaning their individual dignity. These two issues will be dealt with swiftly and harshly.
The RenWeb grade program will provide a great tool for you to check grades, assignments, and weekly lesson plans. My plan is to post the upcoming week's assignment by Sunday evening.
If you have questions at any time during the school year, please feel free to call me at school, e-mail me ([email protected]) or set up a time before or after school to meet with me. I look forward to helping your child grow in the love of God and using their gifts and talents to become what God wants him/her to be.
God Bless You,
Joan Moore
