I have always wanted to be a teacher all my life. I view being a teacher in a Catholic school to be a vocation that God has called me to in life. I have attended Catholic schools all my life and taught in Catholic schools for 39years. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and minors in English and social studies with a specialization in reading, from Marycrest College in Davenport, Iowa. I first started out teaching 7th/8th grade students in math, social studies and English for six years in Bettendorf, Iowa. During that time, I went back to school and pursued a Masters degree in Educational Administration. I earned that from Western Illinois University. Next, I took a job as principal at St. Mary's School in Streator, IL. From there, I came to St. Joseph School and became principal in 1991. I served as principal for 17 years then returned to the classroom as 6th/7th/8th grade teacher at St. Joseph School - Pekin.
I enjoy sharing my faith with the students, music, travel and lighthouses.
